Recently the most talked about form of internet marketing is to write articles and allow them to be freely reproduced, with links to your website.. So in theory you compose a article then place a link to your website at the bottom and then lazy webmasters put it on their websites rather tahn producing the content themself. So not only do you get a one-way inbound links on very relevant pages, and you get plugged on someone else site to boot.

Which all sounds great what with the constant rumours about reciprocal linking being dead.

However I am not so sure, this is the new holy grail of internet marketing. Writing article to promote your business in my humble opinion is far from easy.

For example how easy would it be to get inbound links to help you in the search engines. The problem is the duplicate filter, because because everyone is picking up the same article it is pretty much guaranteed to flag up as a duplicate, so even if your article gets published on 100 websites, the search engines are only going to give you credit for one and they might not even use your link.

So to get 10 links you would probable need to write at least 15 good articles.

But the article themselves may bring traffic to your site, I hear you say! Maybe. To persuade site to publish your articles they have to be written in a certain manner. The main reason why people fail to get their article published is because they are adverts not articles, they just write article selling their product or service. Webmaster rarely want to put these adverts on their site for free. To get them published their needs to be something in it for the website that are published. However if you write a article that primary function is to give useful information or to entertain, then if probable won't be that effective to draw people to your website.

Usually webmasters publish article to make their site better rather than to send people away.

In 6 months time, everyone will be sick to the back teeth of think up articles after seeing very little results.
